Teacher Resume Format (India) — Sample + Template
Whether you are applying as a PRT, TGT or PGT, to a CBSE, ICSE or state-board school, this format shows exactly what principals and school management look for: your subjects, classes taught, B.Ed and TET status, and results you have delivered.

What to include in a teacher resume
- Subjects and classes
- Mention the exact subjects and grade range, e.g. "Mathematics, Classes 6–10". Schools shortlist by subject first.
- Qualifications that decide eligibility
- B.Ed / D.El.Ed, CTET or state TET score and year, and your post-graduation. Put these in Education or a short "Teaching eligibility" line.
- Board experience
- CBSE, ICSE, IB or state board — schools prefer teachers who already know their syllabus and exam pattern.
- Results
- Board result percentages, pass rate improvement, Olympiad selections, or students placed in top colleges.
- Classroom tech
- Smart class, Google Classroom, MS Teams, DIKSHA — most schools now expect some digital teaching.
- Co-curricular roles
- Class teacher, house master, exam coordinator, annual-day in-charge.

Tips from recruiters
- Put B.Ed and TET/CTET at the top of Education — many schools filter on this first.
- If you have board results, give the numbers: "Class 10 Science average 82%".
- Add a recent passport-size photo; most Indian schools still expect one on a teacher CV.
- Keep it to 1–2 pages and attach copies of certificates separately, not inside the CV.
Where teachers work in India
- CBSE, ICSE and state-board private schools
- Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas (through recruitment exams)

Frequently asked questions
Should I put my TET score on my teacher resume?
Yes. Add the exam (CTET or state TET), the paper (I or II) and the year you qualified. Schools often check eligibility before reading anything else.
What is the best resume format for a fresher teacher?
A one-page format with a short career objective, education (with B.Ed/D.El.Ed and TET), teaching internship or practice teaching, skills and languages. The Indian Format design in CV Dost suits this well.
Should a teacher CV have a photo?
For most Indian schools, yes — a clear, recent passport-size photo with a plain background. International schools may not require it.
How long should a teacher resume be?
One page for freshers and up to two pages for experienced teachers. Use bullet points for results and responsibilities.
