Marriage Biodata Format — Sample + Maker
A marriage biodata is the first introduction between two families. It should be accurate, respectful and easy to read on a phone — because most biodatas today are shared on WhatsApp. Here is the format families expect, with a sample you can fill in.

What to include in a marriage biodata
- Personal: full name, date, time and place of birth, height, religion, community, gotra, rashi, nakshatra, manglik status (as relevant to your family).
- Education and career: highest degree with institute, current job, employer, city and annual income.
- Family: father's and mother's names and occupations, brothers and sisters (married/unmarried), family type, native place.
- Contact: the contact person, mobile number, email and address.
- Photo: a recent, clear photo — natural light, plain background.
- Optional: hobbies, food preference, expectations from the partner.
Biodata writing tips
- Keep it to one page. CV Dost automatically fits it to one A4 page.
- Be accurate about education, job and income — they will be verified.
- Write the family section with respect and without exaggeration.
- Use a phone number that a parent or you will answer.
- Choose the language your families are comfortable with — CV Dost offers labels in 35 languages, including every Indian language.
- Download it as a JPG image for WhatsApp and as a PDF for printing.
Choosing a design
CV Dost has six biodata designs — Royal Frame, Floral, Simple Classic, Elegant Gold, Modern Sidebar and Mandala. All six update live as you type, so you can compare them before downloading. Traditional families often prefer Royal Frame or Mandala; Simple Classic and Modern Sidebar suit a clean, contemporary look.
Privacy when sharing
A biodata has personal details. Share it with families and trusted matchmaking contacts; avoid posting it in large public groups. You can leave out your full address and give only the city until the families have spoken.
